IALA RECOMMENDATION

The IVEF service is defined as the recommended framework for exchange of vessel traffic image by IALA June 2011. In this way, the work of the IVEF Working Group has come to a good end. They worked with the XSD version designated with 0.2.x. With the completion of IALA recommendation V-145 for IVEF and the refactoring of the IVEF-SDK the 1.0.0 version was born.

OLDER VERSIONS

IVEF development started with a 0.1.x version. IVEF 0.1.x was the original exchange format which has been implemented by a number of parties and is in operational use still.

With the release of 1.0.0 the 0.1.x and 0.2.x versions became obsolete. All the 1.0.x IVEF-SDK versions contain the 0.2.5 version of the XSD (see downloads).

RELEASE NOTES

The release notes show the versions of separate components and the version of the entire SDK as encapsulating item. Note that the definition was re-coded. For the 0.1.x and 0.2.x versions the IVEF_DEF, IVEF_TOOLS and IVEF_LIB components had their own version number. Since version 1.0.0 the IVEF-SDK release contains the Definition, Tools and Libraries and it is release as whole.

In February 2022 a minor release (1.1.0) of the SDK was issued to mark a not compatible change in the generated C++ code. See the IVEF-SDK release page for more information.

PLANNED RELEASES

The next expected release is a patch release in the 1.1.x series as continuous work is done for the 1.1.x versions. The release date is not yet planned.
