{"id":84,"date":"2012-08-27T11:32:16","date_gmt":"2012-08-27T09:32:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/openivef.org\/?page_id=84"},"modified":"2026-03-19T19:32:29","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T17:32:29","slug":"definition","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/openivef.org\/?page_id=84","title":{"rendered":"Definition"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"id7\">\n<div id=\"id5\">\n<div id=\"id3\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>IVEF Recommendation<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"id4\">\n<p>The IALA VTS council\u00a0<strong>RECOMMENDS<\/strong>\u00a0that National Members and other appropriate Authorities and Entities, introducing an IVEF Service into their shore infrastructure, take into account the principles as set out in the Guidelines on the Inter-VTS Exchange Format (IVEF) Service (<a title=\"http:\/\/www.iala-aism.org\/publications\/1707091216\/inter-vts-exchange-format-service-145\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iala.int\/product\/r0145\">IALA Recommendation V-145<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>IVEF Data Definition<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"id6\">\n<p>The data definition is laid down in the XML schema\u00a0<a title=\"ivef.xsd\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/openivef\/ivef-sdk\/raw\/master\/ivef-sdk\/spec\/ivef.xsd\">XSD<\/a>. The current version of the XSD is 0.2.5. The XSD can be browsed <a title=\"ivef.html\" href=\"http:\/\/www.openivef.org\/ivef-xsd_1_0\/ivef.html\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IVEF software implementation<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"id8\">\n<p>Version 0.2.5 of the XSD is included in all the 1.0.x versions of the IVEF-SDK. The SDK provides a framework to generate source code from the XSD.
